BIOGRAPHY

Steven was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. He has been interested in the world of technology since entering Robert E. Lee High School’s (currently known as Riverside High School) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program. This program helped progress his thoughts of how important it was to pursue a career within one of those divisions of study.

Kicking off his college adventure at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). Steven majored in Information Technology with concentrations in Information Assurance and Data Analytics. This allowed him to remain constant with collaborating with those of color and working on technology-related projects that furthered Steven’s love for technology. Attending FAMU, a historical black college/university (HBCU) was a long-standing goal for Steven, ever since he started his high school education. Being able to work in smaller classrooms and having the ability to build and foster closer connections with his professors were just a couple of the main drivers for this decision. During his junior year of college, Steven became the President of the Eternal Legendary Kings, Inc. and got the chance to refine his leadership skills. During his senior year of college, he served as the Vice-President of C.I.S.M.O, which is the Computer Information Sciences Mentoring Organization within the CIS department. Through this role he assisted underclassmen in gaining a upperclassmen mentor that helped with their transition into the college lifestyle. During Steven’s junior and senior year of college, he continued to excel within his studies, gaining Honor Roll and Dean’s List recognition multiple times.

In the summer of 2019, Steven pursued his first internship with Ford Motor Company as an Information Technology intern. This endeavor gave him valuable experience within the field of cyber security. Steven was also able to practice the concept of innovation within his summer internship through this innovation challenge, which gave him a chance to network with other interns, present his groups’ concept to numerous Ford employees, and polished his public speaking skills even further. After graduation, Steven planned on gaining a career in the field areas of cyber security and/or data analytics, to help people all around the world with his dedication and attention to details.
